Manually Set DNS in Windows 7

We are often need to set DNS (Domain Name Server) for our custom or requirement, the steps are too easy.

1. When we should set DNS for my windows 7

When our computer connect to a local or global network, there is a default service setting for network configuration. we will get the DNS information from the default gateway. But there are necessary to change a new DNS server for some regions where DNS servers are not stable or interference.

There are many popular free DNS servers for our selection. For example, Google DNS Servers: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, we can remember them easily.

2. How can I set DNS for my windows 7

Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center

Or, type "Network and Sharing Center" in the search box in Start.

Click Local Area Connection > Properties, then select TCP/IPv4, Screenshot like this:

Double the selected TCP/IPv4, or click the Properties button,

Select Use the following DNS server addresses

Type your new DNS servers in the next two editbox.

Click OK to take effect.
